Nutshell Review: The Old Guard

PG Score: 7.25/10

The Old Guard was good. It showcases plentiful, brutal action sequences with a nice blend of gunplay and hand-to-hand combat/swordplay. It contains a few particularly satisfying kills and the premise is a cool concept for sure. The dialogue isn't great and not all of the characters are interesting. The plot and pacing also stall at points. Charlize Theron as the lead in The Old Guard is dynamite, but a few of her supporting members are weak in character development and/or acting, as is the main villain character wise. The bloodshed is the main draw here though, and it delivers. Some great choreography and a high body count headline a fun comic book-based action romp that definitely is worthy of a watch.
