There's a lot at stake in 2023 for some major TV and film franchises.
1. That 90’s Show Delivers
Netflix is bringing about the return of Red and Kitty Foreman. That 70’s Show was immensely popular for seven of its eight seasons and I’m hoping the follow-up can capture the magic of the original.
2. The MCU Gets Back on Track
The Infinity Saga wasn’t perfect, but it ended amazingly, with some of the best cinematic experiences I have had to date. The New Year kicks off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qautumania in February, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May. Here’s hoping they leave a better impact than some of the early movies of Phase 4.
3. More A Song of Ice and Fire
Eight great seasons of Game of Thrones (controversial, but that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it) followed up by the amazing House of the Dragon. Hopefully 2023 brings us Season 2 and some word on the Jon Snow series and a bunch of others in the works.
4. The Mandalorian Keeps Delivering
One thing all Star Wars fans can agree on is The Mandalorian has given us interesting characters and a great story. Hopefully Season 3 keeps its foot on the pedal and takes us to lightspeed.
5. George R.R. Martin Finishes The Winds of Winter
It’s been 11 years since his last book and 11 years since I fell in love with his creation. Word is that he is 3/4 of the way done with The Winds of Winter, with about 500 pages to go. Is this true? I don’t know, but I would love for 2023 to give me the next book in the amazing A Song of Ice and Fire series.
